NBB’s RUN GUIDELINES

  • We run on are hilly and strenuous courses consisting of mountain trails and unpaved fire roads. Our runs aren’t races, but great fun and training. You’ll find the routes both beautiful and challenging!
  • First run is Free. After that the annual Club membership fee is $45.00 for one individual and $70.00 for a family of as many as 5 members (payable through our membership page). New members receive a club shirt when our annual order arrives.
  • See our Calendar for info on each run. Click through to each event’s detail page for meetup point, driving directions and parking instructions as well as a link to that day’s route. We suggest downloading the Strava route to your phone before attending the event, as cell phone coverage can be spotty in the mountains.
  • Bring sufficient water for the duration of the run, especially important during warm weather.
  • Refreshments are usually provided at the finish, with drinks from the club and a potluck contributed to by all participating runners.
  • There are rattlesnakes, coyotes, ticks, and possibly mountain lions in these areas. There are also areas of poison oak.
  • Trailhead meeting times are listed in the calendar.
  • Runs will take place rain or shine, with occasional shifts to our standby trails at the Top of Reseda (TOR) during stormy weather. The club posts a prominent notice on our website and sends newsletter alerts if the location changes to TOR.
  • New runners, please print our application/waiver, fill it in, sign it, and bring it with you the first time you run with the group.
  • Runs sometimes offer multiple routes or optional extensions. The Run Leader will discuss them and encourage everyone to run as part of a group.
  • If you prefer trying a run before paying the yearly dues, just fill out the membership application/waiver, which must be filled out and signed prior to running. You may pay the membership dues after you’ve completed a run with us.
  • Members will abide by and respect all rules pertaining to trail usage, including all designated signs and posted regulations, during any and all club runs and functions. Please carry any trash out with you to leave nature how we found it.
  • If you have questions about joining our group, the length of the runs, the demands of the trails, or any other subject, please send a message and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
